Spread the love

Moments

Then sky pulled back
the rainbow bowing night.

Counting her eyelashes in the pane,
wild glint in the back seat
went off down the rising street.
A slim tuft of feathers left
a dead chick, billows above
to a new home.

Walking

I found joy
in the dark sitting
at a voice’s feet.

Raining, a mind
peace dumped
few steps
outside the theatre

walks away like walking out
of a nightmare
when he’s outside with a foot,
his body is saddled with you
and he’s also inside you.

This poetry is loaded. “The birds in your shirt” is fascinating. My best poem here is ‘Closure’. The symbols are fresh and organic. Well done, Yemi..
