MAN
I don’t disagree, but –
WOMAN
There’s that but. I don’t disagree, but! Which eventually means you don’t agree! You just won’t disagree.
MAN
I’m just saying…perfect? That just seems a bit unlikely on the first house.
WOMAN
I don’t mean perfect like flawless. I mean perfect as in just right for us.
NANCY
Well, I’m here to help you find your just-right-for-you perfect.
MAN
We haven’t even run diagnostics. The roof. The foundation. The electrical –
WOMAN
Of course, of course…
(Points to the bed/prop)
NANCY
Staging. I recommended they not leave the rooms empty. Guess they had only a bed for this room.

gets down on hands and knees, and begins to measure)

NANCY
One of the most stressful things a person can do…one of the most stressful things a couple can do. The buying, the selling, the moving. But I’ve seen people do it so many times. It may be hard for you to see right now, but it’ll all work the way it’s meant to in the end.
WOMAN
(Begins to sob softly; MAN
continues measuring.)
NANCY
Oh my. (Beat.) Are you okay?
(WOMAN shakes her head.
NANCY and WOMAN edge
away from the MAN.)
(WOMAN holds
her stomach)
NANCY (Continued)
Oh my. Well, we’re allowed to use the facilities. In an emergen–
WOMAN
(Hugs her stomach,
shakes her head.)
We’re pregnant.
NANCY
Oh!
WOMAN
(To the MAN who’s still
still measuring, loudly)
Will it fit?
(No answer.)
